Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi is a transformational project for Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai - Lower Hutt. It includes crucial flood protection work, transport improvements, and urban revitalisation efforts in a growing town centre.

22 Hecatres of underground utilites mapped.

120 Project team members accessing and utilising the data on Undermaps.

23,732 Underground assets detected, mapped and verified.

Reveal surveyed 22ha of underground utilites and produced the first unified utility model in only 3 months. Reveal developed a Unified Utility Model (UUM) hosted on the Undermaps platform integrating:

Desktop studies and all existing utility plans digitised (BeforeUDig, GIS etc).

Extensive Utility investigation including Multi-Channel Ground Penetrating Radar (MCGPR) surveys with 3D point-cloud visualisation.

Pothole and trial trench investigation data Standardised data formats enabling seamless updates and multi-user access.

Desktop studies and all existing utility plans digitised (BeforeUDig, GIS etc).

Extensive Utility investigation including Multi-Channel Ground Penetrating Radar (MCGPR) surveys with 3D point-cloud visualisation.

Pothole and trial trench investigation data Standardised data formats enabling seamless updates and multi-user access.

We used undermaps for the Te Awa Kairangi project and it has proved extremely useful to view existing data. Reveal are more than happy to share existing data in file formats that enable the designers to utilise them while designing the new utility layouts.

Reveal delivered one of New Zealand’s largest underground utility mapping efforts on-time and on-budget, with actionable insights and data that have substantially reduced the project risk for the client.

Ingested and digitised all existing utility plans to form foundational (QL-D) model. (BeforeUDig, GIS etc).

Full-service Utility investigation including GPR, EML, chamber investigations and Multi-Channel Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys with 3D point-cloud visualisation through Underdots.

Pothole and trial trench investigation data processed into standardised data formats, enabling seamless updates and multi-user access. Over 700 pothole cards georeferenced and ingested into Undermaps.
